According to a Nordstrom Rack manager, approximately 75% of their inventory is manufactured specifically for Nordstrom Rack. While these are great for budget shopping, they don’t always match Nordstrom’s top-tier quality. Look for items that originated from Nordstrom itself—these are often found on clearance or in specific sections of the store.

3. Label Savvy: Spotting Real Deals

Here’s your quick guide to identifying Nordstrom pieces at Nordstrom Rack:

• Nordstrom Rack Tag: Indicates items made for the Rack—good deals but not necessarily high-end. (FYI: this is why knowing your brands is important though because occasionally there is a Nordstrom item with a Nordstrom Rack tag on it!).

• Handwritten Markdown Tags: These signal markdowns from Nordstrom, often the best bargains.

• Sticker Tags with “Nordstrom”: The holy grail of Nordstrom Rack shopping, indicating high-quality items directly from Nordstrom.

4. Don’t Miss the Final Few Rack

Every store has a “Final Few” rack (previously called “From Our Nordstrom Stores”). This section houses end-of-season Nordstrom items, marked down to incredible prices. Online shopping? Filter by “New from Nordstrom” to spot the latest items sourced directly from Nordstrom stores. Add them to your wishlist to monitor price drops.

Nordstrom Rack’s flexible return policy is a game-changer. You can return most items within 30 days, whether purchased at Nordstrom Rack or even Nordstrom. This makes shopping for high-quality returns and end-of-season finds easier than ever.
